“Hello, World!”
The simple phrase that comes standard on all WordPress templates! I would see the phrase all too often when I’d log into the Society Chic portal to write a post for the day. It all started with this website. It actually changed my life and the way I think about things. It was a new beginning and a start to making amazing connections, life-long friends and forced me to start honing in on what life was trying to tell me. Society Chic has given me a chance to express myself in ways that I didn’t think were possible. I remember the beginning days of the site and how excited we all were to begin posting. We’d have weekly group texts about what we’d talk about next and we actually had DAYS designated for who would post when. It was our “baby” and we were convinced that there was not another baby on earth cuter than ours! Then, slowly the posts began to wither away. Not because we didn’t love to do them – but because LIFE happened. Our group is so versatile and ambitious. We all began to go down paths that neither of us knew we’d go down. I knew and understood that sooner or later we’d have our hands tied at different points in time and that I’d need to make a decision that I felt was right for myself and our group.
So, it’s with great joy and sadness (you’ve got to have the best of both worlds, right?) that I tell you Society Chic will be going on a permanent hiatus. I’ve taken the accountability of our site and will be carrying the torch from here. Marti, Noche, and Waffles are following their dreams and I am beyond grateful that they were able to understand this opportunity for growth and really let me spread my wings. I knew going into this that I’d be creating a bond with three individuals that would never be broken and I fully intend on carrying them with me for the rest of my life.
Within the coming months, you’ll see a new name, a new site, and even better content. I had to do this in order to really and truly cater towards the market that I KNOW and love – Fashion & Design! I want to bring you content that I think, I myself, would find interesting. Video tutorials and style posts, design inspiration and DIY projects – everything you’ve been reading, but better!
As individuals we grow and learn new things about ourselves everyday and not a day will go by where I am not thankful for my creative team! They supported me in the journey to start Society Chic and they still support me as I merge onto my own site. There’s something to say about people who follow their dreams.. They’re bold as hell. They close their eyes and know they’re going to hit the ground running. If there’s one thing that Society Chic has taught me, it’s that no matter who you are, what walk of life you come from, if you strive to be something or be someone – be it. Don’t worry about what everyone thinks. If you’re putting your heart on the line to do something you love, people will hold onto that and know it’s genuine. They’ll follow in your footsteps and create amazing things for the world to see because they’re inspired by your courage.
I have a lot of work to do within the next couple months, but can only hope that our followers (you) support me in this bold move and continue to watch the site grow into what I know it can become. Your emails and comments are the foundation that I built this site off of. Knowing what you wanted, listening to what you liked and didn’t like. I will always continue to bring you material that you’ll be proud of. I will answer any and all questions that you have and thank you so much for being a dedicated reader of Society Chic. You have and will always mean the world to me!
